These precision-cut 8x10 mats are sized to fit a 4x6 print and can be used alone as a single mat, or as the bottom of a double mat.

These precision-cut top mats are designed to be used with a bottom mat to make a double mat.

Outer dimensions are 8x10. The opening size for this mat is 4 1/16 x 6 1/16 which will allow 1/8 inch of a bottom mat to show.

These museum grade archival mats come in two styles that will work well with just about any photo taken in or out of the studio.

Style "one" is Smooth White throughout the mat, and the other is Smooth White with a Black Core.

Both of these mats are elegantly crafted and really “pop” the photo!

These 6-ply mats are 50% thicker than regular mats and they add a healthy dose of extra "class" to your photos. Their archival nature will also help your images attain the maximum lifespan possible.

Backing Boards

SBS Backing Board for 8x10 Standard Mats

To use a mat, you’ll need some type of “backing board.” Backing boards are hinged to the mat board with white artists tape (also available from the NYN store).

Many materials can be used for backing boards, inlcuding mat board. Our favorite material, however, is “SBS” board. It’s thiner than mat board — which makes it fit better in the 8x10 mat holders and allows you to get more photos in an album — yet it’s strong and stiff enough to get the job done nicely!

Another plus — it’s white throughout the board!

Double Mats for Album Covers

Mats for Album Covers

If you use 3-ring albums with clear covers and want to customize them, these double mats will give your customized albums a unique and professional look.

The outside dimensions of the 2-inch size are 10 1/2 x 11 1/8 inches and will fit most 2-inch albums.

The outside dimensions of the 3-inch size are 10 7/8 x 11 1/8 inches and will fit most 3-inch albums.

Each double album cover mat includes a thin backing board which is necessary for the mat to fit properly in the clear album cover!

If you want to be sure of proper sizing, check the cover size of the album you plan on using.

Measure the cover width within the plastic opening and subtract about ¼ inch to allow enough slack to slide the mat into the cover without tearing up the plastic.

The depth is usually the same with all brands of binders, about 11¼-inches. To allow for thickness of the mat, make the mat depth 11 1/8 inches.
