Umbrellas
Umbrellas are use to diffuse and even out studio lighting giving a softer look than a direcit light source. Umbrellas are inexensive, very easy to set up and store and can save space over using softboxes.
All umbrellas have a shaft that fit on both the kit and the individual mono lights featured in the NYN Store with no extra adapters or hardware needed.
Translucent Umbrellas
Translucent umbrellas can be “shot through” resulting in a minminal loss of light (½ stop) or used reflected for a very soft light. These are the types of umbrellas included in the lighting kits.

Silver Umbrellas
Silver umbrellas sometimes pointed away from the subject and produce a more contrasty light.
