If you’ve seen any of the 3D movies like Avatar you know how adding an “extra dimension” can create a new and exciting experience for viewing “moving pictures.”
But what about still images?
Although 3D for still images has been around in various forms since the 1800s, it has never been quite up to “prime time” or accessible in small quantities to individual photographers.
Until now...
After a half-decade of development, the technology exists to turn just about any digital image into a 3D print at a cost that is reasonable even for small “one of” quantities.
Your 2D image, when submitted, will be digitally “remastered” into 10 altered versions that, when combined and mounted to a specially-designed lenticular lens, gives the 3D effect.
These techniques are exclusive and have been developed over a half-decade in order to make 3D technology affordable and practical for photographers who want to convert existing 2D images into 3D.
No. Production and sources are very limited. Accordingly, we reserve the right to decline or limit orders if necessary!
Any image can be made into 3D, but some images will have more of a 3D “look” than others.
Here’s why...
In order for our brains to see 3D in flat surface, there needs to be “depth clues” in the image. The more depth clues, the greater the 3D effect.
What this means is, images that already have a sense of depth like “trailing images” that have fences, train tracks, etc. trailing into the distance, or images that have content noticeably in the foreground and background (rocks up close with mountains in the background, etc.) are very good candidates for 3D.
But all is not lost if you have an image that doesn’t meet that criteria.
Studio shots, for example, that are done on a monochromatic or similar background can be made 3D by adding a different background or foreground frame.
The following image, for example, was “3Ded” by adding a digital frame to the foreground (note that the second image shown below is in “3D” but scanning it for display here on the web sort of looses the effect!)...

The following image was originally taken on a white background, but we enhanced the 3D effect by adding a flag background in Photoshop...

Rest assured if there are any 3D problems with the image you submit we will contact you before proceeding!
Since it’s impossible to see what a 3D print actually looks like online, we are offering a 50% discount on your first order. Try out an 8x10 for only $58.50 and see if you like it. My guess is you’ll be back for more, but if not, your cost to educate yourself on what’s available in the world of 3D printing is very low — get your one-time new customer discount code.
Just add the sizes you want to the shopping cart (you can adjust quantities in the cart). Upon successful checkout, you will be e-mailed instructions on how to upload your images for conversion and printing in 3D. Please allow 1-2 weeks for delivery.
