How to “leapfrog” your way to becoming a well paid professional photographer...

Hello Jeff and Pam!!! I just want to say THANK YOU for the amazing course! In less than 3 months I have made nearly 2K in the photography business. Your course is more than just a photography course, it is a complete roadmap to actually creating a photography business. I just completed my first set of photo sessions. The results were astounding. I got nearly $2,000 in reprints and testimonials out the wazooo!!!! Once again, thanks for all of the great advice. Warmest Regards, Jenea Pate

How can I put into words, how can I Thank You appropriately? It was with your Love, Guidance, and Support that launched my photography career. If it weren’t for you it wouldn’t have happened! I am finally doing “what I love” and loving every minute of it! I feel so guilty as I don’t feel like I’m “working”! I’m getting paid for having fun! I tend to be a “shy” person and was worried that people wouldn’t like my pictures. It was one thing when family and friends were looking at them and oohing and ahing over them. It was quite another thing to ask people to pay for them. People have a different criteria when they’re putting out money... Well no worries there!!!!! It is the best moment when they pick up their pictures and they almost cry! I can’t thank you enough! I’m so happy and having so much fun! Yours truly, Judi Moses

Dear Fellow Photographer,

In the e-book The Secret Of Making $2,970.00 In One Weekend Photographing People And Pets, and the the 6-day e-course you received a solid foundation for pointing your photography business in the right direction.

But, as I’m sure you realize — as it is with just about anything — there are a lot of little details you need to know to get your business on the right track, quickly and safely.

For example, in our type of business...

You need to know all the “tricks” of getting people (and pets!) to do what you want (with a smile on their face!)

You need to know exactly what equipment to get and exactly how to set it up

You need to know how to put together a session package that people will pay good money for

You need to know exactly how to word your promotional materials for maximum response

You need to know who to send them to

You need to know how to set up your automated online marketing machine (this is where the real fun begins!), and so on...

This is all the insider information you’d get if you were to buy our business or if you were to buy a franchise from us if we sold one.

You see, there is just no substitute for specific, hands-on, nitty-gritty information when you want to get a business and a career going and that’s what Pam and I give you in the Not Your Normal Photography® course— real-world, tested information, in exacting detail.

This is the information Pam wished she’d had when she first started out. It’s the information we’d gladly pay many thousands of dollars for if we suddenly got “photo business amnesia” and forgot everything we knew.

I can also guarantee you won’t find any other course that’s as complete or on-target as what Pam and I will provide you with. Incomplete e-books and other minor materials simply aren’t going to get you to where you want to be...

I wish I had your course two years ago before I spent a small fortune on individual books from posing and lighting to matting. I was skeptical to try your NYNP course (having been burned in the past). However, your course was everything you claimed it would be, written in a sensible, readable manner and has saved me countless hours of research and frustration. — Sharon Hummel

Nor will overblown technical courses and college programs that will actually slow down your progress...

Dear Pam and Jeff, I have been a photographer since graduating from the New York Institute in 1990, but I’ve never been able to make any serious money at it... until now! Your course materials have motivated me to set up a small studio in my home and I am truly grateful to you two for enabling me to realize a dream that’s been dormant for 15 years! Keep up the good work!!! — Van R. Davies

Hi Jeff and Pam, Just so you guys know, I loved the first course. I am graduating with a B.S. in Marketing this June and I am getting my certificate from NYIP (New York Institute of Photography) and your course has provided me with more helpful information on how to get started on my own than both of the others. Until next time, photographically yours, LeeAnn Kline

This is the one photo course that actually made me feel like I could do it on my own. It was well written and easy to understand, the marketing part was very surprising and phenomenal in that it was full of lots of ideas. It also inspired me. Far outweighs them all. I was a student at the NYIP but did not finish as I got too bogged down with technicalities. — Ruben Garza

“Going it alone” won’t do it either... I’ve learned that one the hard way myself. The right information can literally take years off your learning curve.

Jeff & Pam, After starting and operating my own digital imaging business for four years now I am in awe at how proficient you both are at what you do! I know first hand how hard this stuff is to figure out from scratch!
Jeff you really are a marketing wizard and Pam gives dedicated insight to the creation of her photographs every step of the way. To get so much information together like this that is so to the point, tested and described so well was a surprise to me because I have never seen anything like it. I like how I don’t have to “sift” through extra information to get what I need to make it happen. Thanks again, Scot Guariglia

You know, it’s funny that many people spend $20,000 or more for a college education, and when they come out, they still don’t know what to do or how to get started. Why? Because their education was too general and not focused on the right things — the things that lead directly to success!

Let me just say that I went to 2 years of college for photography and learned some great skills, but your course teaches specific skills that you just can’t learn in a “normal” school. Between the natural style photography instruction Pam gives, and the extremely valuable marketing information that Jeff provides, this course is essentially a business in a box! When I graduated from school, I got frustrated because they pretty much gave me a pat on the back and wished me luck with putting all the skills I just learned to work. —Kevin Santavy
P.S. Just to let you know, my college degree has been packed up in a box ever since graduation. When I get the NYN certificate, it WILL be immediately hung on my wall!

Dear Pam and Jeff, Don’t tell anyone, but I am ashamed to admit I was concerned when I purchased my course in Not Your Normal Photography. I have a BA and had been under the impression that correspondent/mail order education was inferior and probably just some crummy marketing scam. I told myself I would just send it back within the 90 day money back guarantee and hope no one would find out what I had done!
It is nice to be proven wrong when the outcome is so positive. Not Your Normal Photography is actually more practical than a college education (although I am glad I did complete college albeit 23 years ago). I devoured the course materials and found everything to be to the point and encouraging too. I looked at our Jr. College’s Photography Certificate and AA degree and figured it would take me 5 years to complete (I have four children 9-13). Time is of the essence. Not Your Normal Photography has given me the tools and confidence to open my own studio and begin shooting today! Thank you so much for your materials, for your humor and for sharing your lifestyle with others like me.
Sincerely, Sue Wood Migliozzi

So I hope you’ll take a moment and take a look at what Pam and I have created for you. And I hope you will check out the testimonials, too (there’s about 100 printed pages worth of them!... you’ll find a link at the top of this page) because they tell the real story of the many rewards you’ll receive as a Not Your Normal Photography® course member...

Pam and Jeff’s Basic Not Your Normal Photography® Course includes the following...

Special note — The Basic Not Your Normal Photography® course consists of Printed Manuals, Video, Extensive Online Materials, and Ongoing Support. There’s a reason for each “media”... the printed manuals are perfect for “linear learning” that will take you from “point A” to “point B” in the fastest way possible way... some things are best “seen” in video... online is great for expanding and updating information.. and support can handle specific questions and problems.

INTRODUCTION — Starting with the Right Ideas and Concepts

This isn’t the longest section of the course, but it’s certainly one the most important! Here you’ll learn the NYN “philosophy” and the important principles that lead to ultimate success.

Just as important, you’ll learn how to obliterate the things that hold you back!

You’ll get a good dose of motivation, too. I’ve often said that education without motivation is worthless, and we’ve had many course members thank us for the motivational “kick in the butt” and the ongoing encouragement we provide throughout the course.

The night the course arrived I stayed up until 3 AM reading the intro — ! literally got so excited I couldn’t sleep. My heart was beating out of my chest and I kept thinking, “This is !T! I can make this work!” I am now 2/3 through the advanced course and I am AMAZED at all you have achieved and created. Every question I had, every worry! needed taming, and every doubt I had about my ability was taken care of by your course! BRAVO! I‘m not even finished with the course and I have 3 clients asking for my work. (enter “yippee!” dance here) and I’m just getting started. — Alanna Riley

PAM’S NOT YOUR NORMAL PHOTOGRAPHY® COURSE

Pam’s 4-part photography course takes you from knowing nothing to being able to do photo sessions for money (or just for fun... Pam doesn’t always do sessions for pay — sometimes it’s just to goof around and have a good time, or experiment, which are two of the great things about this business... it’s fun, and always wide open door for your creativity!).

Pam’s photo success course is divided into 4 parts...

PART 1

In part one, you’ll find out what you need to know about equipment and technique, including Pam’s “set it and forget it” lighting.

I just wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed your course. Right from the start I saw improvements in my portrait photography. I think what I like most is the set it and forget it lighting — this has been most useful. Before your course I was using up to six lights on my portraits because I thought it was necessary in order to make good portraits. A lot to handle for one person. I did make some good pictures but also a lot of bad pictures. Now with your lighting I get good pictures. I have more time to get really good pose’ s of the subject and not worry about lighting. Your course is very good from the basics to marketing — everyday I learn more and more about marketing and how to keep people coming back sale after sale. — Sincerely William Raline

Jeff and Pam, I believe that the best thing I did in was order the course. I love photography and have been taking pictures of friends and family for a small fee for years... BUT always had to retouch them on the computer because the lighting would be way off. I could never get the lighting just right. Each session would take me an average of 4 hours. Now with the wonderful “set it and forget it” my sessions are half that time! Even when I take fantasy photos of small babies and children! The course has provided me knowledge that has made my life easier not only for lighting but for the marketing too! Thanks for putting together a course that is easy to understand and use!
Thanks again Shanna Prince

  • You’ll get a complete discussion of what equipment you’ll need and why — including the “must have” and the “nice to have”
  • You’ll discover why your equipment is the least part of your success and why it need not be expensive
  • You’ll learn how to set up and use your equipment — plenty of diagrams here — again, it’s all pretty simple — simple works best!
  • You’ll become aware of special lighting considerations you’ll need to pay attention to if your clients have double chins, scars or blemishes, wrinkles, a good side/bad side, or are wearing hats or glasses.
  • And of course we cover how to choose a photo processor for your film or digital file, or if you’re so inclined, how to print like the top pros!

And much more. But you should also know that we didn’t pad this with a bunch of useless “theory,” either! If you want to know how photons travel through the various elements of your zoom lens, or you want to make yourself nuts by agonizing over insignificant equipment details, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

What we will show you is how to get started right away making money with your camera.

You’ll learn how to cut through the techno mess, zero in on what’s important and what’s not.

And while everyone else is hanging out on the photo forums arguing about which piece equipment tests best in the lab, you’ll be “out in the field” building your business!

I have shot 3 sessions of family members for my portfolio (and for practice). I have had 7 different families call to book sessions with me just from seeing my family’s session packages. Another nice FYI — I just went to pick up some reprints at my photo lab and the owner came out to tell me that in his 22 years of photo finishing, I did the best high-key work he’s ever seen. The photos he was referring to were my first 3 “attempts” with my family sessions. Your course rules!!! Pretty cool? Huh? Thank a million times!!! — Cheryl Columbo

The set and forget shooting technique sped up my session at an event last week. Covering speakers and clients was a lot smoother. Second nature shooting is setting in, more innovation is on the rise. Thanks for lighting a grand new pathway. — Bob Campbell

Thanks to your instructions and Pam’s, “Set it and Forget It”, lighting techniques, it is very easy to get professional photographs. The volumes of photos in the Swipe Files really bring out the best in people. — Donald Reed

I’m so glad I took your course and I am recommending it to all my friends in photography. I looked at the New York Photography Institute course and others and yours had the most practical information and tons of useable, real-world tips to make real dollars. (You can use this as another testimonial if you want.) I just talked to a guy at my photo processor shop who says he’s a portrait photographer and when I asked to see some of his work he said he was still working on his lighting setup and getting everything right technically. When I asked him if he was photographing people yet he just muttered something about having everything correctly in place first. Then I whipped out my latest order of photos and showed him my work and he just stared at me with undisguised contempt. — Chris Larson

Part 2

In part two — Props and Poses — you’ll learn the poses, tricks, and techniques Pam uses over and over — they just keep on working — to produce photos people go nuts over.

She’ll even tell you what to say to your subjects; how to put them at ease, and get them to do what you want!

This is the heart of the course where Pam teaches you to take the kind of pictures people are willing to pay large fees to get.

When you’re done with this part of the course, there will be no mystery as to how you should set up each shot, and at this point, you’ll have all the “parts” (poses) you need to put together a paying photo session.

Dear Jeff and Pam, I have been using “Not Your Normal” poses in my photography business for the last 2 years. Kids especially enjoy simple props that let them have fun while having their picture taken. Most adults I’ve photographed also laugh a lot and appear much more relaxed in their poses. When I started my business I looked at many on-line schools and ways to conduct a business. I am so glad I found “Not Your Normal School of Photography” and the Advanced course including all of the marketing information and, of course, the swipe files. Thanks, Becky Klingenberger

Here are a few of the essential ideas and techniques you'll learn in first important section of Part 2...

  • The 3 keys to getting people to look relaxed
  • The real objective of posing (it’s not what you think!)
  • The 3 things that will cause your clients to love your work — even if your lighting and “technique” isn’t the greatest! (But if they’re missing, no amount of technical mastery will save you!)
  • How to know when to “push the button”
  • How to practice and achieve a good deal of photographic proficiency without even taking one photograph
  • How to get started with or without props

After learning the basic “philosophy” of the Not Your Normal posing techniques and the fundamental ideas and techniques you’ll be ready to develop your “bag of tricks” in the posing section.

In the posing section you’ll find...

  • 202 photo examples of families, individuals, children, babies, and adult couples all fully explained, including the how, the why, even the what to say.

I want to thank you guys again for putting on this course. I really love this style and idea of casual photography... I already have a lot of people phoning me for bookings. Thank you again sooooo much for this. A very happy “student”, James Smith

Plus, you’ll learn how to take advantage of the huge undertapped market for pet photography...

  • 71 pet photo examples explained
  • 5 almost (we are dealing with pets!!!) sure-fire tricks you can use to get great pet photos
  • What to do if the pet is hyper or “wild”
  • The two special skills you will absolutely need to be successful at photographing pets

Hello Jeff & Pam, We have gotten a great response with focusing on the animal/pet angle. The “People” and family naturally follows but the hook with the animals as family really helps. Not to mention that we are huge animal lovers. Their a little harder since they don’t always cooperate but if you stick with them, the personalities really are great. We have never received anything but great feedback and are getting a lot of referrals from word of mouth. Our quality has really improved over time and is always getting better, Thanks for the wonderful training and continued support and education. Sincerely, Mark & Tammy

Part 3

In this section, you’ll discover how to put the technical skills you learned in part one and the posing skills you learned in part two into a money-making session.

In part three, Pam shows you how to prepare for, and actually conduct, a complete photo session. This is where the “rubber meets the road” and Pam covers everything from what to say when your clients first walk in the door, to how to send them off on an upbeat note. She even shows you what to do when things don’t go as planned!

You’ll learn...

  • How to plan and prepare for a photo session
  • How to conduct yourself during a session
  • The three shots you must make sure you get
  • A nice “little touch” that’s not essential, but helps break the ice and clients love it
  • How to avoid stupid mistakes and oversights
  • How to get people to do what you want
  • How to keep young children from being afraid of your lights
  • How to get a session started when everyone is feeling awkward
  • How to get people to smile
  • How to deal with common and some not-so-common session problems — crying and tantrums, child won’t look at camera, not getting any facial response, what to do when “nothing’s working” and more

The heart of Part 3, however, is the photo session you’ll conduct — on paper — with Pam as your guide...

You’ll take a “virtual” family through the entire process — from the day they book a session, through preparation and planning, to and though the session itself. It’s the next best thing to doing a real session and a great way to learn!

Part 4

Part four covers what you need to do after the session and tells you how to put together a session package that makes them say “wow!”... and tell all their friends about you!

Pam’s session packages are as unique as her photography and hugely popular with her clients.

One nice feature is that they eliminate the problem most photographers face of having to sell overpriced reprints to make their money. (Having to do that puts you, and the client, in an uncomfortable position.)

With Pam’s session package, you’ll never have to pressure anybody for anything, and you’ll still get reprint orders that are like getting paid a bonus for your work!

In part 3 you’ll learn...

  • Why the traditional session package degrades the value of your services and actually makes clients mad (and causes them to illegally copy your photos!)
  • How to use your session package to get even more business
  • How to deliver your session package to the client for maximum impact
  • What to do after the first sale is completed

THE AUTOMATIC MARKETING MANUAL

While Pam’s Not Your Normal Photography course shows you how to produce a product that’s in high demand, the Automatic Marketing Manual shows you how to bring the demand to you.

I am appreciative of both the technical and motivational support I received from NYN and it contributed to the success I’ve achieved in the one year since opening my studio. I’ve gone from zero to an average of about $5,000 a month in session fees and print sales since opening my studio. And sales continue to grow at a nice rate. — George Delgado

For starters, I’ve included a complete description of the business system that has rewarded us with a steady stream of “pre-sold” customers, even though we don’t advertise, and don’t have a business phone.

The great thing about the way we do business is that you’re constantly “collecting” customers — customers who come back to you year after year, and refer more people to you who are just like them!

This process allows you to eventually run your business entirely on repeat and referral business.

And that’s a really great place to be (it goes a long way to providing you with the lifestyle you seek).

But you do need to get the proverbial “ball” rolling — without taking up a lot of your time, and without spending a lot of money — and that’s what the Automatic Marketing Manual is all about!

The Automatic Marketing Manual, however, is more than just a “blueprint for success” that details the marketing systems we use because you’ll also get all of our relevant marketing materials including Pam’s “panic” letter that brought in $6,000.00 worth of business in a few short days. Plus, you’ll get our InfoPak that has automatically sold roughly 25% of our inquiries. You’ll even get the internal forms we use to manage our inquiries and customers.

In fact, I’ve included everything we use that I thought would be helpful to you. And you can use these as models for your own materials. Where else can you get “under their hood” and examine a fine-tuned, real-world photography marketing engine? There is no better way to learn than from examining actual examples of marketing pieces that have proved themselves in the marketplace.

The Automatic Marketing manual includes...

  • 3 systems you can use — alone or together — to get clients to call you, presold, ready to schedule a session.
  • How to integrate your online marketing systems with your offline marketing activities
  • All of our relevant marketing materials, my comments about them, plus some extra pieces I thought would be helpful to you. These 100+ pages of powerful marketing materials are a valuable reference you can use as a model for your own materials. And yes, you can start very small and build from there. We started out with a one-page brochure and you can too.

Here’s what else you’ll learn...

  • The 3 deadly thoughts that will kill your business
  • Why providing what people need is a short route to disaster — what to do instead
  • The 3 conditions that must be present in your potential client before they will buy from you
  • The #1 reason businesses fail, the 4 causes of it, and how you can avoid each one
  • How to take the guess work out of the marketing process
  • How to avoid wasting your marketing money and how to concentrate it where it will do the most good
  • How to handle phone calls
  • The crazy thing we did that caused price to become a virtual non-issue and created a stampede for Pam’s services!

SAMPLE PRINTS

You’ll get to see exactly what we give the clients for prints and you’ll learn exactly how we produce them. The print pack (there are 11 sample prints in all covering a range of poses and skin tones) is a important refence guide and it’s been a valuable and appreciated part of the course!

SUPPORT

Pam and I have really tried hard to give you a complete and clear paint-by-the-numbers plan for your photography business.

But we want to make double sure that you have all the information you need to be successful. (If for some reason you don’t become successful, I want to be able to sleep well knowing it wasn’t because of us — something that you didn’t completely understand, or something unusual came up that we could have helped you with.)

With your basic package, you’ll get support via e-mail that will be escalated to a photo consultation if necessary. This way you can get your questions answered, and we can help you deal with any “weird situations” you may have.

The course is excellent! I’ve called Pam once or twice regarding the lighting, and she was just as friendly and helpful as she could be! Thanks Pam! I’m taking better photos of my family, friends, and clients than I ever dreamed were possible! — Sandy Chisholm

NOT YOUR NORMAL PHOTOGRAPHY® NEWSLETTER

The Not Your Normal Photography newsletter has been a huge “hit” for its monthly dose of inspiration, cutting edge marketing tactics, and photographic updates.

I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed the last newsletter I received from you. I really enjoy hearing from you. I am still using your materials to help me in my work. I mostly did weddings this year but my family portraits are getting to be more of my business, and I enjoy them so much more now because of your help. My wedding often include families getting together so that they often want a family portrait on that day, so you have helped me even with my wedding by making it a two fold thing. My clients just love them, too and I’ve enjoyed the benefits of large reorders. Glad to report I’ve had the best year in my career. I’m happy!! — Frances Woods

I just love your newsletter and look forward to every issue. It’s funny, witty, informative and down to earth nuts and bolts how to do it. Thanks for the constant motivation. — Glenn Golden

Frankly, I wanted to charge extra for this. After all, many people have enrolled in our courses (at the same price we charge now), didn’t get the newsletters you’re going to get, and were still totally blown away with what they received.

But...Pam thinks differently — she wanted you to get the updates for at least 4 months at no extra charge. She even talked me into including a year’s worth of back issues with your course.

So that’s how it stands for now. Take advantage of this. There really is a ton of great information in the newsletters, so be sure to check them out (and if you feel so inclined, send Pam a thank you note for making me put them in your course!).

Hi Jeff & Pam, Just wanted to write a quick note to let you know that my wife Susha and I acted on the vision you described in your Jan 07 newsletter on going from “Home Based to No Base” with the help of virtual assistants.

Susha and I have no problem getting 20 to 30+ half hour sessions booked for each weekend we choose to shoot on. 80.7% of our customers purchase anywhere from a $395 package to $895 with the most popular being our $525 package. Our biggest challenge has been in getting everything edited in time for the customers viewing appointments a week or so after their session.

Up until just 3 months ago we never even used Photoshop and finally bought Adobe Elements 5. We are about ready to upgrade to CS3 but find that it is taking us to long to edit each package so after reading your article on “Sever Farms and Virtual Assistants” we decide what we really needed to do was to get some hired guns to help us free up our time to do more marketing and shooting. So we just hired 3 virtual assistants skilled in photoshop to do most of the editing for us!

Now instead of shooting weekends only in our living room we are planning on targeting several other towns here in Australia within a 5 hour drive from our home and increasing the number of days we that we shoot and sell.

We hesitated in the past to get help because we didn’t want to deal with all the typical problems associated with hiring employees. Didn’t want to become dependent on a key employee or worry about providing them with benefits and funding their SuperFund Account (Australia’s smarter version of your Social Security) with three instead of one we won’t get hurt as much if one decides to quit or simply does not work out.

I’m excited about what other gems we’ll discover buried in the other back issues of your newsletters!

Cheers, Steve and Susha Shulenski

Hello Jeff and Pam,

I received the latest newsletter yesterday, and I just wanted to drop you a line and say “thanks!”

As always there are little gems of info, and I find myself saying over and over to my wife Virginie that both of you, and what you are making available, is “gold”. The ongoing research and constant findings that you share are really appreciated!

Best Regards, Rob Healey

I love getting your newsletter every month. I scanned past articles and made lists of: books that you recommend, websites to visit, products and software to try, companies to check out, and things to research at the library, to use as a quick reference when I’m surfing and shopping. I just purchased several books that you recommend. It would have taken me forever to research and find all the things you recommend on my own — and some of them I probably would never have thought of. — Pamela Hewins

I am sending this to you to let you know how much I have enjoyed this course and how much I have learned about how to working with the people, especially from the video. I watched the video and loved it! I want to complement you on the way you worked with the families and especially the kids and the dog. — Michael Young

I loved your encouragement in the course, newsletters and follow up e-mails and phone calls. Loved the video, too. I especially like Pam’s specific instructions on how photographic dogs... the “buzz” word was really helpful. — Nicki Bailey

The basic system is perfect for getting a business started, or if you just want to tinker around with this and see what happens.

However, if you’re firmly committed to taking control of your life — if you want to really “take the bull by the horns” and “hit the ground running” — the Deluxe Course is the package to consider getting...

Dear Jeff & Pam, Thank You!!
When I first started to purchase your course I almost bought your Basic course, but due to bank error and time to think about it, I ended up buying the Deluxe course. Am I glad I did!! It is so packed full of info that I feel like a kid in a candy store when reading it. The head start that it allowed is great, to say in the least. Practicing on one of my grand kids of 15 total has already brought people to my door. Having a printers back ground of 30 years helps, but all of that is worthless unless one knows where to start! This course has that!! And More...

Pam and Jeff’s Deluxe Not Your Normal Photography® Course includes EVERYTHING IN THE BASIC COURSE,
PLUS THE FOLLOWING...

PAM’S PRIVATE SWIPE FILES

I’m having so much fun with the Swipe File examples — my customers love the unique poses! If the course was nothing more than the Swipe Files, if would still be worth the money.— Thanks again, Sherry

At first we were just going to assemble this for our own use, not sure if we wanted to let all of this out. But it just turned out to be so valuable we couldn’t, in good conscious, keep it totally private. This is, in fact, exactly what Pam uses, day-in and day-out, to create her photo sessions.

Let me explain...

In the basic system, Pam gives you enough poses and information to get you started doing paying sessions. Naturally, we couldn’t include everything Pam’s used in over 20 years of photographing.

Nor could we tell you how to handle every single situation you’ll come across. That’s where Pam’s Swipe Files come into play and rest assured these are one of the most useful photographic tools you can own!

Pam’s Private Swipe File will help make sure you never run short of ideas.

Packed with poses, the Swipe Files include just about every situation we’ve run across. It’s Pam’s life’s work in a box, a huge reference, an “encyclopedia” of Pam’s Not Your Normal poses, each one is shown and described in detail, ready for you to “swipe.”

When appropriate, Pam’s swipe file will even tell you what to say to the people being photographed, and any little “tricks” you’ll need to know about

You’ll get special poses for holiday pictures, special events like family reunions, and practically every combination of infants, adults, children, and pets you can think of. Doing a session of a family of three with a dog? No problem, just go to the swipe file for ideas.

The Swipe File makes session planning a breeze, too. Just mix and match to get what you need to build your session. That’s how Pam uses her own personal Swipe File, and she’s also included a special session planning kit to make your session planning even easier.

You can also use the Swipes Files during a session to show your customers the pose you’re looking for. Plus, you can use them as a sales tool until you build up your own portfolio!

The Swipe Files include...

  • 2,866 photo examples from real photo sessions with real paying customers. Having the Swipe File is like having the results of one huge photo session worth over $35,000 at your finger tips —instantly ready to give you plenty of ideas you can copy to make money for yourself.

And there’s more, you’ll also find...

  • Additional tips, how-tos, and explanations of poses, special notes, quick reminders, and verbal pointers throughout

The Swipe File is more than just a massive reference, it’s an advanced system of planning and choosing poses for your money-making photo sessions...

  • Use the Session Planning Guide and Kit to make session planning a snap — especially handy when you’re doing large volumes of sessions!

You’ll find the true power of the swipe file is in the organization and utility of it...

  • Use the fast-find header system to quickly locate the poses you need for the particular group you’re photographing i.e. — family with 2 kids and a dog, adult couple, baby with grandparent... the swipe will help you with just about any combination you’ll run into.
  • You can also use the Swipe File during the session, to show clients an example of the pose you want — or to make last minute changes in your session plans, if needed.

Pam uses the Swipe File constantly, so you can be sure it’s thoroughly “battle tested.”

Besides being a day-to-day working tool, the Swipe File is also a full-blown advanced photo course. You’ll get tons of new ideas and insights you can use right away just from flipping through it once or twice.

The Swipe File comes in 4 volumes...

Volume oneBabies and Toddlers [alone, with adults, with siblings, with props] 586 photo examples covering...

  • Babies not able to sit up (and how to deal with this “problem”)
  • Babies and toddlers who can sit up, crawl or walk (and how to deal with a “moving target!”) plus...
  • Special sections on how to solve the unique problems of photographing very young children

Volume twoFamilies and Individuals 1639 photo examples covering...

  • Families (2 or more people)
  • Adult Couples
  • One Person plus...
  • Special section on Holiday, Seasonal, and Special Occasion
  • Tips, reminders, how-tos, and verbal pointers throughout

Volume threeProps 333 photo examples covering...

  • Props for one person or family
  • Accent/Accessory props plus special sections on...
  • Types of props
  • Where to find dozens of inexpensive props (you may already own some of these) and how to use them to add interest to your photos.
  • Tips, reminders, how-tos, and verbal pointers throughout

Volume fourPets 308 photo examples covering...

  • Dogs
  • Cats
  • Other pets
  • Pets with people and more...

Keep in mind, all the photos in the Swipe Files are proven poses Pam has used over and over again. And they keep her clients coming back over and over again, paying Pam practically whatever she asks.

Currently Pam’s asking, and getting, $997 for 48 pictures — or $20.77 for each time she “pushes the button.” Based on that, the 1,695 photo examples make the 4-volume Swipe File worth over $35,000!!!

However, if we only charged you what you could make on your first 100 shots (after all, that’s less than 3 sessions worth), it would probably be fair to charge $20.77x100= $2,077 for this book alone. It would probably be fair, but we’re going to be more than fair and not charge you any where near that amount for the entire deluxe package. I’ll get to pricing in a moment, but first let me finish telling you about what else is in the deluxe package...

THE SUPERCHARGED MARKETING MANUAL

This action guide picks up where the Automatic Marketing Manual leaves off. It’s for the person who doesn’t just want a steady stream of clients, but a steady STAMPEDE. Here’s the information you need, not just to compete, but to make your competition want to leave town!

In the basic system, I give you the techniques we used to get Pam’s business going and what we still use to keep it going on a controlled simmer. This action guide shows you how to bring your business to a voracious boil even in tough business times and environments.

You’ll learn about buyer psychology and copy writing and you’ll take on the mind set of an advanced business person and marketer. We’ll also dive deeper into marketing on the Internet.

But the real beauty of this action guide is it’s high degree of usefulness; it’s ready-for-action toolkit approach. Each idea, each program, is broken out into digestible “chunks” for you to use as needed. Personally, I use some of the techniques some of the time, but not all of the techniques all of the time. In fact, some of the techniques I don’t use any of the time because we don’t want to get that busy! But they are there for you to use as needed and if you want to blow the lid off your business and “come out blastin,’” you need this action guide now!

The Supercharged Marketing Manual expands the systems first presented in the Automatic Marketing Manual and adds many, many, new ideas — all with the ultimate intent to turn you into a master marketer.

Here’s a small sampling of what you’ll find...

  • How to “lock up” a market so your competition has almost no chance to compete with you
  • How to find your total market (it’s bigger than you may think, so why leave “money on the table?”)
  • How to get the maximum value from each one of your clients (again, why leave money on the table?)
  • The online marketing mistake almost every photographer makes
  • How to create a market you can have all to yourself
  • 17 ways to separate yourself from your competition
  • How to make sure your marketing doesn’t get “out of whack” when you’re “not looking”
  • How to zero-in on what’s working and dump what’s not
  • The 13 triggers that cause people to act — the further you stray from these, the harder your marketing job will be
  • The 3 reasons people don’t buy (and what you can do about it)
  • The two types of buyers — they’re opposites, but here’s how to reach both of them at the same time!
  • How to break down the “iron-shield” that surrounds your potential customers and keeps them from hearing your marketing message
  • How to reduce session cancellations and what to do if someone does cancel a session
  • The 22 secrets of running, organizing and controlling your business (having too much business is almost as bad as not having enough!)
  • How to write copy that sells
  • The biggest mistake most businesses make in their marketing materials — you’ll want to get this right — it can increase response as much as 300%!
  • How to get people to buy now
  • Most business cards are worthless — here’s how to turn yours into a client-grabber
  • Why most brochures are a useless waste and what you should do instead (it’s usually cheaper this way anyway)
  • 8 common marketing mistakes you should always watch out for — so you can avoid them!
  • The right way to use newspaper and Yellow Page ads
  • The proper way to write a press release and get free publicity
  • How to get other businesses to help you promote yours
  • How to stay “on top” once you get there
  • How to smooth out “Seasonality”
  • How to stop the one person who will try to derail your sale almost every time...

...just a small sampling — the Supercharged Manual is fully packed with savvy marketing and business know-how — all presented in small digestible “chunks” so you can refer to, and use them, as needed.

Use these supercharged tools with the Business Builder and Maintenance Kit and you’ll be able to lay the solid foundation of a business that fits your needs, desires, and lifestyle.

The Business Builder book gives you the important step-by-step process needed to build and control the business you want! Frankly, most people ignore this process, or are ignorant of it. And they tend to end up where they don’t want to be. Don’t you be one of them!

EXTENDED FOLLOW-UP SUPPORT

EXTENDED NOT YOUR NORMAL PHOTOGRAPHY® MEMBERSHIP

Our membership program, which includes the Not Your Normal Photography newsletter and access to the member only web site, has been a huge help for our members. It provides ongoing support, and a wealth of in-depth information and resources. You’ll receive 6 full months of membership included with your Deluxe Course.

Tuition fees...

The tuition for the basic course is only $487 and the tuition for the deluxe course is only $987.

I don’t know if that’s a little, or a lot to you. To some, it’s a little, and to some it’s a lot.

When I first got your course my wife almost had a stroke because of the price. She has since seen the value and has also read the course. When we do sessions she is right there with me in the studio. I have given her the title of “set director”. She helps the subjects with posing and props and has a lot of good input She has become a valuable asset. It has actually drawn us closer to each other and we love it and thank you for it. — Fred and Michelle Powell

It was extremely scary paying so much for a bunch of paper that could possibly have no more use than being kindling! But now that I have your Not Your Normal Photography course — I think I would have paid double, (if I would have known exactly what I was getting.) — Alanna Riley

Not Your Normal photography is the best. The best at teaching a new way to photograph people, the best in marketing information, the best newsletter for your members. I said it earlier, I wish I had taken advantage of NYN long ago. At first you think you spent a lot of money for the course. Then as you learn and study, you understand that it is not money spent, but an investment for your future. — Joe Johnson

I think you’ll agree though, it’s a more-than-fair price. Where else can you get complete information on a viable business that’s fun, personally rewarding, highly profitable, and can be molded to fit your life-style, for this small amount of money?

I sure don’t know where else you would go. Sure, you could buy a franchise for $100,000-$150,000, or you could go to a full-time photography school which costs $20,000-$40,000 (even going to local community colleges can end up costing you thousands!).

Or you could go to weekend seminars which can cost you a couple of grand, or you can try to learn what you need to know from books, free internet sites, or other home study courses.

None of them, however, will give you the kind of complete, precise, on-target information that Pam and I will.

Your course is fantastic. I am a traditionally trained photographer with almost 20 years experience. Pam’s style of non-traditional photography methods and your marketing genius have been a life saving breath of fresh air for my career. Thank you for making it all available for a reasonable fee! — Mark A. Bass

Look, Pam and I have been teaching and helping photographers get started in business since 1997. We know how to teach clearly — we know where the pitfalls are — and we know what questions you will have.

Pam, in fact, has kept a file with every question and every problem we, or our course members, have run into. We’ve used this to continually update and improve our courses based on the real experiences of our students.

So, at this point, what you’re getting is actually the collective wisdom of a couple thousand photographers all focused on one thing — living a fun, creative, and profitable lifestyle making money with their cameras...

As you’ll see when you join us, we may all start from the same point of reference, but eventually everyone finds their own way and does their own thing. And that’s what makes this really fun!

So will you join us? The trick to getting where you want to be is to get started on the right path the easiest and fastest and way possible.

Time is of the essence, and each minute you wait pushes your ultimate goals further into the future.

And if you think about the time it would take you to figure out even a tiny fraction of what we teach in our course (if you could even do it), I think you’ll agree that what we are asking is a very small price to pay.

Pam and I look forward to your enrollment!

Photographically yours,

Jeff Farr

P.S. As I was finishing this course description up, a fellow entrepreneur faxed me a little list about why we take the path we do. No, being in business isn’t always easy, but when you see the rewards itemized like this, could there be any other choice?

What entrepreneurs
are thankful for...

I am healthy, productive and happy

I’m blessed with family and friends who support my lifestyle

I live and work in a place of my choosing

I do not commute to work

I have no dress code, I wear what I want

My income is based on how long and productively I choose to work

I get up when I want and work as long as I want

I take vacations when I want and for as long as I want

I do not have a boss to tell me what to do and make me do stupid things

I take responsibility for all my activities and my retirement and health care is under my control, no company to take it away from me

I don’t have to worry about being laid off down sized or fired

A nice list — sometimes I forget how good we really have it!

OK time for me to shut up and let you take care of business...

Hi Pam & Jeff, I have to admit that I had reservations at first sending that kind of money to total strangers. I have been burned before in a business transaction with some less then honest people. You guys came through & stood by everything that was promised to me. — Robin Hamann

I’m so thankful to have found the NYN School of Photography. You have exceeded my expectations. It is such a leap of faith to buy anything off the net these days! The manuals are so clear, straightforward and just plain common sense, and the personal telephone support has been phenomenal. Blue Skies, Trez Fleming

My name is Candy, and I haven't yet had the opportunity to sit down and thank you for your course. It has completely changed the way I view photography. I must admit that spending a $1,000 on your course was a huge risk. I felt a lot of FEAR that I may get nothing from it. But now I wonder how I would be doing this without your course. You guys have helped me out so much, and I look forward to your newsletters. I know so many legalistic photographers, but you guys are the REAL DEAL! — Thank you Candy Washburne

Dear Pam and Jeff,

Just a quick note to thank you for your business integrity. You deliver what you promise which is less and less the case anymore.

Frankly, I purchased your material a bit skeptically. Over the last 25 years I’ve built a very successful business. I read the marketing material looking for trouble. Instead, what I found were the principles that have made me a successful businessman.

For anyone without this history or background, let me encourage you to follow Jeff’s principles. They work. I know because I’ve because I’ve been applying them now for 25 years.

Thanks for telling the truth and at a reasonable price.
Kind Regards, Stephen O. Meidahl

I have been a customer service manager in retail photography for the past 15 years and I can say without reservation the you two have demonstrated the highest level of professionalism I have witnessed in this industry for many years. Keep up the great work!!!— Larry Basinger

Special thanks are in order for not ripping me off; that is always a very special concern to me. The fact that you genuinely want to help after you’ve been paid, is an extremely rare quality — at least in this neck of the woods. Thanks again for being who you are.— Al Benner

Certificate of completion

Let the world know you’ve graduated!... get your suitable-for-framing Certificate of Completion when you finish your course!

Hello Jeff and Pam! I just had to comment on the certificate of completion and the frame I had ordered...it is absolutely beautiful! I have 2 large pet shows coming up. This will decorate my booth very well. It is much nicer than I had anticipated and I do appreciate the prompt delivery. — Judy

My first session dedicated to: The Not Your Normal School of Photography. Your course material and personal service is reason for success.

Your course materials are a delight and right on. I have worked for PCA (K Mart and Wal Mart), Knack & Richards, glamour & wedding photography. I have also sold real estate and life insurance. I have taken extra courses on my own some good some not, so I know what I’m talking about. Never before have I even come close to putting all the creative and marketing tools together. Your course was just the all around “button down” information I need in one complete package. — Thanks, Bonnie

...a side note about this session: she told me at the end of the session that she would probably want everything, meaning the Deluxe Session Package, which I have priced at $995! I had resisted pricing my packages this high for so long, but you gave me the confidence to finally do it! — Angela Griffin

WOW!!! Amazing course; definite kudos to you. I was looking for a long time for something to help push me closer to my studio business, but with confidence. I have taken University classes, but would never recommend that over this Not Your Normal School of Photography. I am so glad I found you guys... I will definitely be referring you to all of my photography friends. — Natasha Enns

I’ve been a hobbyist in photography for the last twenty years, and with retirement from my full time job in the near future, I’ve decided to start a photography and custom framing business. I’ve taken several courses in photography including one from New York City which I didn’t get much out of.

I was a little skeptical of taking “another photography course,” but this was one of the best choices I’ve ever made. I try to make everything I do “simple” and after completing your course, this was the best course in photography I’ve ever taken. The other courses seemed very technical, but your course made it very easy to understand the material. I was able to get going and start taking pictures right away! The member’s only web site is packed with more information that anyone can get going and start a photography business right away.

Thanks for giving me the information that you could only learn by “trial and error” and saving me a lot of time and money in starting my business.
Sincerely, Bob Day

I couldn’t have gotten my website up without you. — Rick Davis

I would just like to say that all the material in the course is the best stuff I have ever seen and I can tell you that I have gone through a lot of stuff over the years.

Thank you for all that you have done and keep up the great work. If the world were made up of more people like you we would all be better off. — Jim McMahon

Business here is going steady, I’m averaging 2 sessions a week. It’s the pace I want to be right now. Everyone is happy with my work. My pictures are 100% better now. Thanks so much!! — Linda Boyd

Dear Pam & Jeff;

I retired after 32 years and wanted to see if I can make money from my passion for Photography. The problem is I had no idea where to begin.

After 32 years of working in a corporate environment I was much more used to a very structured way of conducting business with very sound Business Plans. Becoming an entrepreneur was very new (and scary) to me.

Your course has given me everything I was looking for. It showed me how to get started from A to Z. I now have a very good understanding of a solid Photography Business Plan, and the best part of it is, that you put it all in one place for me. Sincerely Dan Mitchell

I have always felt like I had an eye for portrait photography, but I also believed that, like with other arts, if a person wasn’t in the top 1% you just could not make a living with your art. Your course has shown me that I was wrong.

I am a teacher. I received the course in mid-November, just before Thanksgiving break. I spent that weekend consuming your course. By Christmas vacation I had the studio set up in my living room and was taking pictures of friends to start building my portfolio. On January 15th I had my first paying customer. I jumped right in at $495 for the session, and the customer was quite willing to pay it.

Other courses have given me boring detail about my camera — your course has given me the tools to actually make money at something I love. We now offer 3–4 sessions on a weekend and are filling those sessions when we offer them. — Tim Wuth

It has been a real up lifting experience working with Pam & Jeff, plus this type of photography is rewarding. You are providing a service where someone is extremely satisfied, happy and complimentary of your work. You feel like you are doing something worth while, something that might even make a difference. And you are receiving monetary compensation in return.

This is GREAT! Your clients want to see you succeed so they do all they can to assist you in obtaining new clients. Have I already said it? This is GREAT!

My initial prices are somewhat reduced versus Pam’s prices, however, the first weekend booked (people actually paid for the session) I did 8 sessions and brought in over $2,000.00. I’ve done outdoor photography for over 2 years and never received that kind of return. — Mark Melvin

I’ve completed your Course and I have to comment on the high quality presentation of the material.

I found your course Manuals to be filled-to-the-brim with excellent training and development instruction! The organization of the Material and excellent teaching & coaching by Pam are A+ excellent! Jeff’s tips and motivational comments are superb; as well as the priceless “tricks of the trade” marketing guide to build a Performance business.

I feel I’ve made a quantum leap to the next level. — Thanks for everything! Jeff Buttars

It’s the coolest feeling in the world when someone writes me a check for taking pictures. Something I love doing. You guys are great — thanks for all you do. — Bob Richards

I recently shot a family reunion of 22 people. The orders were great, but the joy the photos brought to them was most meaningful to me. Everyone I have photographed has been really pleased.

I thought I knew a lot about marketing, but your course gave me so many new tools and techniques I don’t know if I will ever be able to use them all. I love the photo course, too. There is always something more to be learned. — Marcy Reese

I have been shooting for 33 years. What you speak of in your KIT hits the nail right on the head. We photographers hate sell. You make it understandable. Thank you for describing the process of marketing in KIDDY Language for a person like me. You make it so that I can spin the wheel of marketing without my having to invent it. Thank Pam for me.

The Swipe file is COOL. Like I said, I have been shooting for a little while now and I get stuck on poses sometimes. Yours are relaxed and cool. Perfect compliment to the stuff I do >>>> ADDS MORE VARIETY >>>>COOL...Thanks for being out there... George Gray

I love the way you and Jeff have laid out the material. It succinctly and directly tells me what is important (wheat) and what is not (chaff). I have not wasted a single moment of my time. I don’t feel that way about the NYIP schools. You’ve surpassed their capabilities to focus on what’s crucial to know! Thanks a lot! — Mark S. Tuck

GREAT. It is great the way you include everything needed to get going. I love the way you concentrate on getting the job done and not all the tech stuff.

The newsletters are wonderful for keeping the momentum going and the web site articles are priceless. The “swipe files” give me the confidence to try. This program does not cause you to become intimidated by all you need to learn. It encourages you to do it and gives you the info so you can in a short time.

The DVD was great for seeing how it was done and giving one a “feel” for an actual session. I think it’s great you give useful information for all area of the business as well as motivation. When I first received your free lessons, I was surprised that the information was so good for free.

Because of the free info, I felt confident in ordering the program. I was blown away when I received the materials and saw Pam’s photography. I never considered doing portraits until I saw your course. Now I love it. The completeness of the information and the get right to it information has allowed me to jump right in. — Sherry Huffman

The course is so extreme - nicely done, well thought out and so informative. I know I will be referring to this course for years. I only received it yesterday and have gotten through the first two binders, but I already regret ever hearing of NYIP and taking courses at my local college. — Jonnelle Ulbin

Words are hard to come by in showing my appreciation for what you and Pam have accomplished in the past year in helping me get my business off to a great start.

I continually refer to your course and newsletters when looking for inspiration and answers about running my business.

You know, there are ups and downs in this business and not everything goes as planned. But when I have a “down day” I simply sit back and re-evaluate what didn’t work and why it didn’t work. The answers of “why it didn’t work” is always in the course and newsletters.

BTW, I just booked two rabbit shows (didn’t know those bunnies sell for big bucks!) and a large cat show (cats from all over the USA) where I will be the only photographer. These people saw my photos and contacted me to do these shows. This is in addition to my family sessions already booked this fall PLUS senior high school packages.

I just turned 70 years young and I credit your course and your untiring efforts to make me successful in spite of my many “Senior moments” (those of you who are retired know what I mean!).

My 48 year old daughter is my assistant and sets up all the family poses using the Swipe Files from your course. All I have to do is press the shutter! Anyhow, I just don’t have time to “be old” anymore and even my wife of 50 years is amazed at my increased energy.

That “little ad” of yours that I saw sure changed my life for the better. Thanks and continued success to you and Pam. My best, Jerry James

Hi Pam and Jeff,

I am a 23 year old college student. Your course has been loaded with great information. Your course teaches me the things that I need to know to have a great photography business. It teaches me the things that my college courses don’t. With this course I will be a better business woman. Thank you guys for offering the NYN course. Sometimes I wonder how you do it all. You must have little elves helping you there on The Farrm. Thank you.” — Jessica Wood

I enrolled in the NY Institute of Photography and never finished it. It was was dry and boring. You offer the things we need to get our businesses off the ground. — Kathy White

Dear Pam and Jeff,

I am a longtime editor and photographer. Your course is unusually comprehensive, practical and easy to understand. I love what you have to say and how Jeff says it. — David Kennedy, Writer and Photographer

Hi Pam and Jeff!

For years I dreamed of doing something I love and earning money while I had fun. But never knew how! I took 5 courses, got a little diploma, spent about $1,000 in 2 years! Guess what. I understood my camera better and that was it. Finished, done! I thought it was hopeless. And then there was you! I immediately felt like there was someone who was willing to be my mentor. Your down to earth approach is exactly what I needed to get me where I am now! Both of you are great!— Beate Tranbargerer

Dear Pam and Jeff,

Your “Not Your Normal” Photography Course presents a wealth of knowledge to anyone interested in the photography business.
I started with the Basic Course and upgraded to the Advanced Package when I saw the immediate value and quality of your material. You can believe me when I say that I have never enjoyed learning as much as when reading through your lively text. Your entertaining style makes it easy to read and understand and I must admit, “Not Your Normal” manuals are very difficult to put down. I became a “night owl” without realizing how fast time passed while I was submerged in your books.

The information provided by you is priceless!
I hope you will use my testimonial to show others the value of your course. Sincerely, Joel M. Krane

Your course is packed with very numerous fine details interspersed within easily read and entertaining text. A lot of other books assume that either you already know about these details or they are unimportant in the larger scheme of things. — Louie Labayen

I am nearly booked up through November and am booking sessions for December. I have learned a lot since selling my bass boat and maxing out my credit card. You gave me the confidence that I could do this type of photography, I am so thankful. Again, thank you both so much for making this form of photography accessible to the public, I am dearly grateful. Take excellent care. — Daryl Hemmings

I tried to write sooner, but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had time. Since got your package, I’ve been getting photo jobs without even thinking about it. And, I’m making more money per job. — Kip Roof

An idea for getting started with little or no money even without any photos to start with. Approach children specialty shops and using a box with a poster offering free photos (two of their choice) in exchange for use as portfolio. I presented a full package and allowed them their choice of two matted photos free....well guess what! about 90% bought the extra photos with some purchasing the whole photo shoot at a cost of $595. — Sharon Belcher

Your course was invaluable. I’ve learned so much and was impressed with the responses received from our customers viewing this new style of photographing. I am a wedding photographer also and you should see the excitement as never before.
My profits have increased dramatically.
I am very pleased. — Thanks for your help, Matt Tomcsanyi

The course is everything I expected and more! In fact, I’m using some of the photo marketing ideas in my massage business!! That was a bonus I didn’t expect. Thanks!!! — Zayne

Dear Pam & Jeff,

Just a few words about your “Not Your Normal School of Photography” course.

I have been “into” photography since my Jr. High School days, back in the early ’60’s. I have taken two correspondence courses from two different “Name” schools as well as attending some of those seminars and a professional school of photography in the past. But it wasn’t until I took your course that I was hearing “Now THAT’S Me” from my subjects. I have heard this from several people that I have photographed since taking your course.

Those other courses my have taught the technical aspect of photography, but your course goes beyond that. Your course also teaches the technique to make people feel comfortable & relaxed to the point that it’s easy to capture the “real” person. Their personality, not just their looks, so to speak.
In the past, my photography was mostly for my personal enjoyment. But since my success after taking your course, I am being asked, more & more, by others to have me take their portraits. They come to me. I haven’t promoted myself at all.

I am now in the process of having my “hobby” support itself. Thanks to you & your course, I can now afford better equipment and to travel to take photos of places & things that were never possible in the past.

All this & extra money in my pocket, to boot.

As you can probably tell, I think your course is great & highly recommend it to anyone interested in people and/or pet photography. Sincerely yours, Thomas Stafford

Dear Pam + Jeff,

As I have already told you on the phone, I think your course is really terrific! It’s really well put together, super well organized, and overflowing with information, ideas, and techniques. It must have taken a monumental effort! I am equally impressed with your availability and willingness to provide help and support, and the way you follow up by sending out information promptly. You really helped me find my lighting system. Without your help I wouldn’t have know where to start working. — Steve Lankford

I was attracted to your ad since my recent retirement allowed me the time to pursue a second career, not especially for the income, but more for pleasure. I ordered the course, a lot of money, I thought. However I was pleased, when I realized that it met the need of every business, who with a great idea lacked the knowledge of marketing that idea. I recognized the emphasis on marketing along with a detailed plan to be successful with all the source research one would need. It seemed like several years’ experience in a few volumes. I was right. A motivated person cannot find a better place for a great amount of useful marketing information with enough photography to be successful. — Joseph Zarick

Well, I finally found time to study all nine manuals and picked-up quite a few things that are helping to increase my profits. You and Pam really put a lot of effort into your materials. The monthly newsletters aren’t too shabby either! — Paul Prough

Good Morning! God bless the both of you!

Your course is better than described ... and definitely more than I could of hoped for.

Thank you for pulling this program together for now I see that I can do the work I enjoy and live the life I’ve always wanted. I have already read through all the materials (every single word!) and will start my second read thru tomorrow.

Thanks again for all the hard work the both of you have done for the “rest of us.” — Margaret Osowski

Pam,

I really enjoyed visiting with you by phone this afternoon...

After our conversation, I thought I would write down my thoughts about NYNP (Not Your Normal School of Photography).

I picked up a camera when I was 15 years old and have been shooting ever since. I’m 48 now and, after years as a newspaper editor and photographer, I am finally pursuing what I love the most; full-time photography.

I have to admit I was skeptical (journalists take Skepticism 101 in college) about the “Make $2970 in a weekend...” ad so it took a leap of faith for me to order the course. But I did, and, on arrival, I promptly thumbed through it and put it on the shelf for about a month.

When I finally committed to study the material, my attitude changed. My skepticism receded enough that I could entertain the notion of building a good business. And, the more I read, the more I became convinced I could be successful at portraiture photography. Your clear, concise instruction on technique and Jeff’s wonderful candor about marketing helped me hurdle the greatest obstacle I had to success... my own “stinking” thinking.

I assembled a bare bones studio setup, solicited friends and neighbors for practice sessions and started shooting. My friends and neighbors have nominated me for sainthood (they loved the photos and the style) and even I was a bit impressed. (I tend to be my own harshest critic.)

This past weekend I shot my first “for pay” session, a young man graduating from high school who brought Mom with him. Everything you wrote about their nerves was true but after a few minutes of the “Pam Farr treatment” everyone relaxed and we had a great time. I attached one of the “fun” photos and the rest are as good or better.

Thanks again for the best course on becoming successful in this business. — John Ater

I’ve been photographing most everything for over 20 years as a hobby. I do it because I love it. It never really occurred to me that it could be my main occupation.

I had seen the ads for a long time, and decided to see what was up with this “great idea.” At first I was a little reluctant to invest the money, but I can tell you that I’m glad I did. The marketing ideas are excellent, and the ongoing support through the newsletter keeps the idea factory going! The Not Your Normal School of Photography has given me the confidence to begin with a working system. I may change some things later, but the fact is that it was a jump start to starting a photography business. I have a plan and I will enjoy the journey.

Thanks, Tim Summach

I would like to let you know that since I began the course, I have gained the confidence to go out and make money with my camera. I was asked to assist at a press conference with Bank of America and the Chivas Soccer Club. There was some sort of promo going between the two, and my friend asked for my assistance. Not a bad start! I have also just been given the chance to shoot product for a catalog. I just
wanted to say “thanks” for boosting my confidence and my technical know how!

Regards, Bill Carson
